Our Partners:

Coton works closely with several sustainable partners in order to ensure our mission is at the forefront through all aspects of our work. From responsibly sourcing our textiles to using eco-friendly packaging, healing the planet and treating people fairly are at the core of what we do.

Fabscrap is a convenient and transparent recycling and reuse service, an affordable and accessible materials resource, and is educating and empowering a diverse community of changemakers. Coton is not able to use every piece of scrap we acquire, as some are too small to be repurposed, so we maintain Zero Waste operations by partnering with Fabscrap to upcycle and recycle the materials which we cannot do ourselves.

Since 2000, Native has worked with hundreds of organizations to develop authentic solutions to their sustainability challenges and implement community-scale projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions, strengthen businesses, and contribute to progress around the world. Their diverse team of strategists, project developers, environmental scientists, engineers and legal counsel are devoted to strengthening the people, companies, and places at the heart of these initiatives.

EcoEnclose prioritizes packaging that is made with as much recycled content as humanly possible, with an emphasis on post-consumer waste. Prioritizing the use of materials that are as easily recyclable as possible, they focus on those that can be recycled back into themselves (versus downcycled into a lower value item). EcoEnclose invests in constantly developing naturally biodegradable solutions that will not contribute to plastic pollution in our oceans and lands. They consider the entire lifecycle, with an emphasis on GHG emissions and agricultural pollution.

Refurnished is a student-led effort that connects volunteers from UVA and organizations in Charlottesville with community members to provide furniture to those in need. By diverting gently-used furniture from landfills, they aim to address the deep-seated issues of furniture poverty and furniture waste. Refurnished partnered with Coton to supply furniture pieces on our first ever photoshoot.
